Kohana Nation (3c Sioux Nation - Peachy Princess, by Cape Cross) got off the mark with a clear-cut win at Doncaster on Saturday. The Charlie Hills-trained colt had built on his debut when finishing second at Newcastle in December. He duly won on his third start, and first on turf, in the hands of Oisin Orr. Kohana Nation was slightly slow into stride, but made headway to lead after a furlong. He was shaken up from a furlong out and went easily clear to win by three and three-quarter lengths. Kohana Nation was bred by Mark Quigley and Llama O'Mahony.
