A colt by triple Group 1 winner and dual Classic hero Hurricane Lane caught the eye when selling to Blandford Bloodstock and Bethell Racing for €100,000 at Goffs Orby Book 1 this week. Consigned by Castletown Stud, the chestnut is out of the Dylan Thomas mare Tooralooraloo, making him a half-brother to recent Grade 3 Del Mar Juvenile Turf Stakes runner-up Shadow Nation (by Sioux Nation). Tooralooraloo is in turn a full-sister to Tannery, a winner of the Grade 1 E P Taylor Stakes. The further family includes Group 1 Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud scorer Gamut and high-class stayer Saddler’s Rock. Hurricane Lane's first foals sold for prices of up to €68,000 last year.
