Governor Max (5g Maxios - Lucy Cave, by Court Cave) landed his first win between the flags at the second attempt when running out an easy scorer at Quakerstown on Saturday. The Jonathan Fogarty-trained gelding had finished runner-up on his point debut at Umma House last month, beaten just a neck at the line. Ridden by Alex O’Keeffe, the son of Maxios went one better when asserting from two fences out to defeat Exit Strategy (by Getaway) by seven lengths. Governor Max was bred by Sarah Halley.
