Junior Minister (5g Order Of St George - Vanellope, by Presenting) gained his first win under rules with success in the concluding bumper at Carlisle on Thursday. The five-year-old had finished a half-length second on his sole point-to-point start at Dromahane last December and then went through the ring at the Tattersalls Cheltenham January Sale this year, making £70,000 to Dan Astbury and trainer Sam England. Junior Minister raced in second and was pushed along to take the lead from a furlong out. He kept on well under Jonathan England to strike by a length and three-quarters, with Crystal Spectre (by Crystal Ocean) in second. Junior Minister was bred by M Sheehy.
