Lookin At Lucky’s Electric Light Earns First Group Victory
Lookin At Lucky’s multiple stakes winning Electric Light (3f Lookin at Lucky x Egocentrica, by Scat Daddy) earned her first group victory on Monday with a win in the Group II Clasico Carlos Campino in Chile.
The Haras Don Alberto homebred was racing over 1 1/8 miles on the turf in the graded stakes and quickly challenged for the lead before taking over soon after. She opened multiple lengths on the field down the backstretch as she raced with her ears pricked during the early stages.
A pair of horses came up to challenge her in the stretch but once she saw them, she was determined to stay ahead and pulled ahead to win by 1 ¾ lengths for a fifth career victory.
Conditioned by P. Baeza A. for her owner-breeder, Electric Light has finished in the top two in six of eight starts with three consecutive victories this year.
The filly is a granddaughter of stakes placed Explainable, who is out of the multiple Grade II winner Bank Audit with four of Electric Light’s first five dams either earning blacktype or producing blacktype earners.
Lookin At Lucky is quickly approaching the 50 graded stakes winner mark with Electric Light his 49th worldwide winner at the graded stakes level.
The sire of 74 stakes winners, he has also sired 143 stakes performers in 11 different countries.
