Magic Results for Pierro
There has been keen demand for the progeny of Champion sire Pierro during the first three session of the 2021 Magic Millions Yearling Sale with 18 of his yearlings generating over $4.4million in turnover at an average $244,722.
Leading the way for Pierro was his cracking filly from Group I winning sprinter Griante that was snapped up by Spendthrift Australia for $550,000 from the Milburn Creek draft.
Spendthrift’s general manager Garry Cuddy said they had targeted the filly and were delighted to secure her.
“She is a big, strong gorgeous filly with a pedigree to match,” he said.
“We are very happy to take her home and happy with what we paid for her. In a strong market we thought we bought well.”
Other good results for Pierro were a colt from Zuzao that made $520,000 for Twin Hills Stud when bought by Tony Fung Investments/Phoenix Thoroughbreds and the three-quarter brother-in-blood to Group I winner Pierata, a colt from Mischief Night, that made $450,000 for Kingstar Farm when bought by Hong Kong Jockey Club.
