4-length 2yo stakes winner for Footsteps
Celestial Path (2c Footstepsinthesand-Miss Kittyhawk, by Hawk Wing) looked a high-class juvenile when running away with the Listed Ascendant Stakes at Haydock on Saturday.
The unbeaten Footstepsinthesand colt, who trainer Sir Mark Prescott has entered in the G1 Racing Post Trophy, coasted to a four-length success in the mile contest and received a quote of 33/1 for next year’s 2,000 Guineas from bookmakers.
“He's done it really well in the end. He's still mentally a big baby, but he's done it nicely. The first time I sat on him in his work at home he felt quite good then. He's taking his races well and is going the right way,” jockey Luke Morris told PA Sport.
Jeremy Brummitt bought the Catherine Monaghan-bred colt for 110,000 euros as a yearling at Goffs.
