Lady Dahlia (Australia) Wins A Curragh Maiden

Australia Filly Shows Winning Attitude At The Curragh

Lady Dahlia (3f Australia - Attire, by Danehill Dancer) ran down the short-priced favourite to land the Paddy Power Rewards Club Maiden at the Curragh on Friday afternoon.

Placed on three of her four previous starts, the Joseph O’Brien-trained filly once again ran over a mile and a half and was ridden to chase the leaders by Dylan Browne McMonagle. Making headway from three furlongs out, she began to narrow the advantage of Ciel D’afrique and ran on well inside the final furlong to lead close home.

Owned by Ahmed Aldubaili, Lady Dahlia was bred by BV Sangster and sold for €105,000 as a yearling. There should be more to come from the chesnut, given that her full-brother Leo De Fury (Australia) excelled as a four-year-old, winning the Group 2 Mooresbridge Stakes in fine style.
