Australia Sires Pair Of Saturday Maiden Winners

James Park Woods (3g Australia - Happy Holly, by Holy Roman Emperor) gained a well-deserved maiden victory when winning by all of ten lengths at Chester on Saturday.

Trained by Ralph Beckett for Quantum Leap Racing, the bay came into the seven and a half furlong race with four placings to his name. Sean Levey rode him to chase the leaders and pushed him to lead approaching the two furlong pole, from which he raced clear.

A 190,000gns yearling, James Park Woods was bred by Hunscote Stud and is a half-brother to the Stakes-placed Heavenly Holly.

Holy Kingdom (3c Australia - Cable, by Dynaformer) completed a double of maiden winners by Australia on the day when justifying favoritism the Novice Stakes at Chelmsford that evening.

Runner-up on three occasions, the Rom Clover-trained grey was stepping up to a mile and five and a half furlongs for the first time. Cieran Fallon tracked the leaders aboard the favourite, asking him to quicken as they approached two furlongs out and rode him to lead entering the final furlong. He ran on well to beat the well-bred Swift Wing by a length and a quarter.

Owned by the Rogues Gallery Two, Holy Kingdom was bred by Cliveden Stud out of Graded performer Cable, herself a half-sister to Exchange Rate.
