Elisheba Becomes The Latest Winner By Australia

Having caught the eye when making late headway on her debut earlier in the month, Elisheba (3f Australia - Laugh Out Loud, by Clodovil) was sent off second favourite for the Fillies’ Novice Stakes at Wolverhampton on Tuesday evening.

Stepping up to nine and a half furlongs, she was ridden to chase the leaders and began to improve over a furlong from home, staying on well to pass the favourite inside the final furlong, and scored by a length on the line.

The John Gosden-trained winner is owned by Angus Dundee Distillers Ltd and was bought by Blandford Bloodstock as a yearling for 200,000gns. Bred by Triermore Stud, the daughter of Australia is a three-parts sister to Platinum Warrior (Galileo), who recently won the Grade 2 San Marcos Stakes at Santa Anita. A Galileo full-sister to Platinum Warrior sold to Stroud Coleman Bloodstock for 700,000gns at last year’s Tattersalls Book 1 Sale.
