Footstepsinthesand Colt All Heart In Maiden Victory

Dramatic Sands (2c Footstepsinthesand - Melodrama, by Oratorio) showed an admirable attitude when battling back to win the seven furlong maiden at Chepstow on Tuesday.

Second on debut at the end of May, the Hambleton Racing-owned bay raced with the leader until asserting at the three furlong pole and was briefly headed over a furlong out. Digging deep, he got his head in front when it counted to score by that exact margin on the line.

The Archie Watson-trained colt has clearly impressed connections judging by his trip to Royal Ascot and entry in a valuable juvenile contest in September. Bred by Tullamaine Castle Stud and partners, he becomes the first winner out of the mare and provides a nice update for his yearling full-brother.
