Footstepsinthesand Colt Bolts Up On Debut
Imperial Sands (3c Footstepsinthesand - Hadrienne, by Pour Moi) announced himself as a smart prospect when making an impressive debut at Kempton on Wednesday evening.
The Archie Watson-trained colt had clearly shown promise at home, which saw him sent off second favourite for the mile maiden. Making all under Hollie Doyle, the bay was asked to quicken from the two furlong marker and dually obliged, bolting up by five and a half lengths.
Owned by Hambleton Racing, Imperial Sands is the first foal bred by Charel Bloodstock out of Hadrienne. His winning debut follows a fine weekend for Castle Hyde Stud stalwart Footstepsinthesand, who sires an international Stakes double on Saturday.
