Footstepsinthesand Colt Lands Chantilly Maiden

A drop down in trip saw Grand Giomar Step (2c Footstepsinthesand - Dona Sola, by Iffraaj) win his second start in Tuesday’s maiden at Chantilly.

Racing over seven and a half furlongs, the Gianluca Bietolini-trained colt tracked the leaders under Maxime Guyon and was asked to quicken approaching the turn for home. Pushed along before two furlongs out, he was soon ridden and ran on well to lead a furlong later. Digging deep, he prevailed by a head on the line.
