Footstepsinthesand Colt Wins Competitive Haydock Maiden

The Camden Colt (2c Footstepsinthesand - Venus De Medici, by Duke Of Marmalade) built on a promising debut performance to win Thursday’s six furlong maiden at Haydock.

Richard Hannon’s charge finished third to subsequent Stakes performer Hackman earlier this month and showed the benefit of experience when making all the running on his second start. Pushed clear approaching the final furlong, he was ridden out to win by half a length under Dane O’Neill, with the first three finishing over five lengths clear of the field.

The Camden Colt is owned by Eq Racing and becomes the first winner bred by Tullpark Ltd out of Venus De Medici.
