Maylin (Footstepsinthesand) Wins Her Maiden At Chantilly

Footstepsinthesand Filly Gains Smart Maiden Win At Chantilly

Maylin (3f Footstepsinthesand - Mona Vale, by Zoffany) held off challenges from well-bred rivals to win Saturday’s maiden for three-year-old fillies at Chantilly.

Trained by Mathieu Brasme for owner/breeder Mrs Waltraut Spanner, the daughter of Footstepsinthesand stepped up to nine and a half furlongs on her second start. She raced prominently throughout under Alexis Pouchin, quickening as they turned for home and was ridden from the two furlong pole. Leading soon after, she ran on strongly to win by three parts of a length, with the front trio finishing clear of the field.

Maylin becomes the second winner out of Mona Vale (Zoffany), whose two-year-old filly by Australia has been named Mona Louise.
