Footstepsinthesand Filly Leads Rivals On A Merry Dance
Dancing Feet (3f Footstepsinthesand – Speronella, by Raven’s Pass) made it two from two for the Archie Watson yard when taking Wednesday’s Novice Stakes at Kempton.
A promising fifth on debut last summer, she impressed on her first start for Archie Watson last month and returned to seven furlongs on her latest start. Sent off favourite under Adam McNamara, she made all of the running and was pushed along from two furlongs out. Quickening clear approaching the final furlong, she won by three lengths in a comfortable fashion.
Bred by Miss Mary Davison, Dancing Feet sold for €40,000 as a yearling. She becomes the third winner out of her dam, a half-sister to dual Group winner Move Up.
Castlehyde Stud sire Footstepsinthesand enjoyed a terrific 2019 season and will hope to build on that in 2020, following Richard Hannon’s recent comments. The trainer revealed that dual Group 2 winner Threat (Footstepsinthesand) will be aimed at the Craven Stakes before a 2,000 Guineas tilt, while the ultra-impressive Mums Tipple (Footstepsinthesand) is being prepared for the Irish 2,000 Guineas.
Footstepsinthesand stands for a fee of €15,000 this season.
