Footstepsinthesand Filly Races Clear To Maiden Victory
The progressive Aspiration (3f Footstepsinthesand - Van De Cappelle, by Pivotal) produced a smart performance to win Tuesday’s six furlong maiden at Yarmouth.
The Martyn Meade-trained bay finished second on her three-year-old return in July and was sent off favourite under Tom Marquand on her third start. She tracked the leader in the early stages, quickening when asked two furlongs out and improved to lead approaching the final furlong. Soon clear, she stayed on strongly to win by four and a quarter lengths.
Owned by Mantonbury Stud, Aspiration was bred by Cloughmealy Stud and is a full-sister to the highly-rated Invasion Day.
