French G3 success for Footsteps
Rosso Corsa (4c Footstepsinthesand-Lady Scarlett, by Woodman) looked to be better than ever at Longchamp on Saturday when capturing the G3 Prix du Palais-Royal.
The Footstepsinthesand colt had spent the winter racing in Qatar and he looks set for a good year in France after being moved to trainer Georges Mikhalides by owner Mubarak Al Naemi.
“We received this horse from Qatar,” Mikhalides’ son Elias told JDG. “The race went well for him and he came back at (runner-up) Robert Le Diable to win. We’re very happy because it’s my father’s first Group win since returning to France.”
Rosso Corsa, an 80,000gns yearling, was bred by Mervyn Stewkesbury.
