Improving Footsteps colt takes German G3
The Mick Channon-trained Arnold Lane (4c Footstepsinthesand-Capriole, by Noverre) made the long journey to Germany worthwhile on Wednesday when claiming a comfortable G3 success.
The Footsteps colt looked better than ever when taking the G3 Bethmann Bank - Silberne Peitsche over six and a half furlongs at Munich by two lengths under jockey Sam Hitchcott.
Arnold Lane, a €60,000 yearling bred by Lynn Lodge Stud, had finished third in last season’s G2 Challenge Stakes at Newmarket and - after spending the start of this year in Dubai - he won a Thirsk conditions event impressively prior to his trip to Germany.
