Improving Footstepsinthesand Colt Gets Off The Mark
Batchelor Boy (2c Footstepsinthesand - Kathoe, by Fayruz) maintained his upward curve when gaining his maiden win at Wolverhampton on Friday evening.
The Marco Botti-trained colt was sent off favourite for the six furlong Novice Stakes and Daniel Muscutt rode him to make all. Shaken up approaching the final furlong, the chesnut was ridden out to win by a length and a quarter.
The Middleham Park Racing-owned winner finished fifth on debut in June and returned from a break last month to finish a close second. He was bred by CM Farrell and sold for €47,000 as a yearling, going on to make 60,000gns at the breeze-up sales.
