Lots To Look Forward To With Australia’s Latest Winner

Leo De Fury (3c Australia - Attire, by Danehill Dancer) created a fine impression on debut when running out a clear winner of the ten furlong maiden at the Curragh on Thursday.

Shane Foley rode the Jessica Harrington-trained colt to chase the leaders, switching left to challenge with two furlongs left to run and led entering the final furlong. Staying on strongly, he beat second favourite Macquarie (Australia) by five lengths.

Harrington, who trains the winner for Zhang Yuesheng, commented after the race, “I don’t have him that long but we think he’s a nice horse, and it’s lovely to win with him at this meeting. I think he’ll go on improving and he is one to look forward to.”

Leo De Fury was bred by BV Sangster out of Attire, a full-sister to dual Stakes winner Forgotten Voice, from the family of champion miler Arcangues and top-class race mare Aquarelliste.
