Newmarket G3 for exciting Footsteps juvenile
The Richard Hannon-trained Larchmont Lad (2c Footstepsinthesand-Fotini, by King´s Best) confirmed himself a hugely-exciting prospect when winning the G3 Tattersalls Stakes at Newmarket on Thursday.
Hannon feels the Footstepsinthesand colt is a live contender for next season’s Classics after this impressive victory.
"He's the sort of horse that will get better through the winter and he could well turn up in the either the Craven or the Greenham next spring. He's a Guineas horse, for sure,” said Hannon.
"I've always thought a fair bit of him and he's a very straightforward horse. I wanted to run him at Glorious Goodwood, but he had a little problem and got an infection in the back hoof wall and we had to go and sort that out.”
Bred by Domenico Fonzo, Larchmont Lad was bought by Peter and Ross Doyle for 110,000 euros at Tattersalls Ireland last September.
