Next stop Guineas for Footsteps G3 winner

Trainer Andreas Suborics has his sights on Classic glory with Dragon Lips (3c Footstepsinthesand-Devilish Lips, by Konigstiger) after the three-year-old’s impressive G3 win on Sunday.

The Footstepsinthesand colt took the G3 Dr Busch-Memorial in superb style and was eased down to win by three and a quarter lengths.

Suborics confirmed that if Dragon Lips comes out of the race well, then he will head to the G2 Mehl-Mulhens (German 2,000 Guineas) on May 21 at Cologne.

Suborics told German Racing: “Dragon Lips was very relaxed which was to his advantage. As long as he comes out of this then he will run in the Mehl-Mulhens. I think he’ll handle distances up to 2,000 metres.”
