Marianafoot (Footstepsninthesand) Wins The Group 3 Prix De La Porte Maillot at Longchamp

Son Of Footstepsinthesand Completes Stakes Hat-Trick

Marianafoot (6h Footstepsinthesand - Marianabaa, by Anabaa) brought his winning run to seven when landing the Group 3 Prix de la Porte Maillot at Longchamp on Thursday; a third consecutive Stakes win for Jerome Reynier’s charge.

Jean-Claude Seroul’s homebred had beaten some of Thursday’s rivals last time out in another Group 3 over course and distance, and was sent off favourite to repeat the feat under Mickael Barzalona. Making all the running, he was ridden to go three lengths clear approaching the final furlong and was eased close home to win by a length and a half.

Reynier and Seroul also claimed fourth with Elusive Foot (Footstepsinthesand), who is related to their Stakes-placed mare Kanuka (Footstepsinthesand), while Marianafoot (Footstepsinthesand) is related Listed winner Mariafoot (Footstepsinthesand).

There may be more to come from this family, too, with Marianafoot’s three-year-old full-sister Marianasand (Footstepsinthesand) having finished a close fourth in Stakes company this season. Following a proven formula, the pair have a yearling full-sister names Anastep (Foostepsinthesand) waiting in the wings.
