Son Of Footstepsinthesand Wins In Good Style
Bear On The Loose (3g Footstepsinthesand - Ihtiraam, by Teofilo) built on a promising debut to run out a commanding winner of Tuesday’s Novice Stakes at Yarmouth.
Kevin Philippart de Foy’s representative finished a close third to a previous winner on debut last month, and remained over the mile trip on his second start. Ridden to make all by Daniel Musccutt, he was shaken up at the two furlong pole when going best of the field and was pushed along approaching the final furlong. Ridden clear soon after, he was eased down close home to win by a comfortable length and a quarter.
Owned by KB Thoroughbreds, the promising three-year-old was bought by Alex Elliott as a yearling for €100,000. The son of Footstepsinthesand was bred by John Connolly and Carol Henley out of Ihtiraam, whose Calyx filly fetched €90,000 at last year’s yearling sales.
