Son Of Footstespinthesand Adds Group 3 To Fine Record
Marianafoot (6h Footstepsinthesand - Marianabaa, by Anabaa) brought his winning run to six on Sunday when taking the Group 3 Prix du Palais-Royal at Longchamp.
The Jerome Reynier-trained chesnut recorded his second Listed victory last time out and was reunited with Mickael Barzalona at the weekend. Leading for much of the seven furlong contest, he was shaken up with a furlong and a half left to race and kept on well to deny the favourite by a length.
Owned and bred by Jean-Claude Seroul, Marianafoot has proved remarkably consistent, having won 12 of his19 starts. The son of Footstepsinthesand completed a quickfire double for connections, with Elusive Foot (Footstepsinthesand) having won the previous race on the card.
