Talented Australia Filly Beats The Boys At Meydan
The talented Beyond Reason (4f Australia - No Explaining, by Azamour) bounced back to form to land a valuable prize on Thursday’s card at Meydan.
A dual Group winner as a two-year-old, the Charlie Appleby-trained filly was lightly-raced last season and returned to finish third in the Group 2 Cape Verdi last month. The sole filly in the seven furlong contest, she raced in mid-division under William Buick and began to improve with two and a half furlongs left to race. Leading approaching the final furlong, she ran on well to hold off a late challenge by Laieth and won by a neck.
Owned by Godolphin and bred by Paget Bloodstock, Beyond Reason was bought as a yearling for 370,000gns. She is the second foal out of Grade 3 winner No Explaining and comes from the first crop of dual Derby victor Australia.
