US Stakes-Winner for Footsteps

French bred mare Divina Comedia (5m Footstepsinthesand x Divine Promesse, by Verglas) landed her first Black Type success when saluting in the $79,190 Southern Truce Stakes at Santa Anita on Sunday.

Fifth at her most recent outing behind champion mare Beholder in the Grade I Vanity Mile, the Simon Callahan trained mare appreciated a drop in class and raced away to take the 1 and 1/16^th mile contest by a length and three-quarters.

The 48^th stakes-winner worldwide for her sire Footstepsinthesand, Divina Comedia has won four of 18 starts and is the first winner for Divine Promesse, a half-sister to stakes-winner Mondovino.
